Media Hosting Sites

Media Hosting Websites offer free space to upload images, audio and video to the web.  Once files have been uploaded they can be viewed via a web browser. Content can be posted to blogs, wiki’s, social networking sites, web pages and online presentations.

Flickr.com is a simple website that allows you to upload videos and images to an account you aquire during the one-time sign up process.  With Flickr you can: Show off your favorite photos to the world, Blog the photos you take with a cameraphone and securely and privately show photos to your friends and family around the world.

Photobucket
Photobucket provides free video and photo sharing. Easily host and link your images and videos to social networks, auction sites, blogs, and message boards. Photobucket is reliable and very easy to use. The one bad thing about Photobucket is the sign up feature, unlike Image Shack and Tiny Pic you WILL have to set up an account before you can begin uploading your files for internet posting.

ImageShack is an intuitive and easy-to-use free image hosting solution. It can be used to share pictures with friends, as well as to post images on message boards and blogs. TinyPic.com is a very simple, fast, reliable free video and image hosting site. It is perfect for linking to myspace, auctions, message boards, journals, and other websites. TinyPic lives on a fully redundant, load balanced web cluster that should guarantee maximum uptime and performance. There is no registration or login, all you have to do is submit your picture.

The Image Hosting
"The Image Hosting" is a free image hosting solution that can be used to share pictures with friends, post images on message boards and blogs, and direct link images from your personal website or online auction (hot linking allowed free). It generates thumbnails for photos that are larger than 200x200 pixels in resolution. Registration is required to use the service. Limitations: You may upload as many images as you like, as long as each of them is less than 1024 kb (1 MB) in size; File types allowed: .jpg, .jpeg .gif, .png, .swf (Flash files); You are not allowed to hot link fullsize images on any large-scale, non-forum websites; No images will be deleted for inactivity.

Pure Upload
"Pure Upload" is a free image hosting server where you can upload and host online pictures for free without registering (sign-up is optional for more features). You can hotlink a small clickable thumbnail (auto-created by the server's script) which is altered to show the images original pixel size and file size beneath the thumbnail. The fullsize image is shown on a webpage with ads. Non-members are restricted to uploading images of no more than 2MB in size, while registered members may upload up to 3MB images. File types supported are jpeg, jpg, png, gif, tif, tif image file extensions. Inactive images (pictures not downloaded or viewed) for more than 60 days are deleted from the free hosting server.
